Stephanie French, Managing Director of Nutrition Directions

Stephanie French, Managing Director of Nutrition Directions, is a Registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society. She has extensive commercial experience, having run her own sales and marketing consultancy for many years. During this time she has been responsible for introducing numerous consumer goods companies (retailers as well as manufacturers) to new international markets as well as providing strategic advice on new business development. Prior to setting up her own consultancy she held business development roles for United Distillers (now Diageo) and Avis Rent-a-Car.

In terms of academic credentials she has an MA in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield. Until recently she was also carrying out post-graduate research with the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition at the University of Reading. This research focused on the development of web-based dietary analysis tools, and the relationship between diet and well-being, including a range of sub-clinical health complaints.

Stephanie speaks Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese and has travelled extensively in Europe and the Americas during the course of her work.

As well as managing commercial projects for her clients, Stephanie is available to speak at seminars on the development of functional and health-enhancing foods. She writes regularly for trade magazines interested in developments in the functional foods sector and is increasingly called upon by the trade press to provide opinions on key industry issues.
